As people become more familiar with Zoom, it is natural next step to want to upgrade the viewing experience with enhanced production tools. The "Screen Share" tool has made it possible to share whatever is on your computer to the rest of your audience. In this article, we're going to talk about the easiest way to incorporate video and PowerPoint presentations into your Zoom meeting.

Zoom offers optimized screen sharing of a full screen video clip.  This setting increases the frame rate of the screen share while playing the clip, so that the playback appears more smooth for remote participants.  This feature is optional but recommended.

Note: You must have a stable internet connection with at least 1.5Mbps uplink and downlink speed for Full Screen HD.

Sharing Video Clips

  1. Open your video file
  2. Click Share Screen.
  3. On the bottom check the box "Optimize Screen Share for Video Clips
  4. If your video has audio, check the box "Share Computer Sound" and it may have you download an audio driver. This will allow for the computer audio to send to your participants for the best audio possible.
  5. Select the video you would like to share from the pre-populated options and click "Share"

Sharing PowerPoint Presentations

  1. Click Share Screen.
  2. On the bottom check the box "Optimize Screen Share for Video Clips if your PowerPoint has any videos embedded.
  3. If your video has audio, check the box "Share Computer Sound" and it may have you download an audio driver. This will allow for the computer audio to send to your participants for the best audio possible.
  4. Select the PowerPoint/ Keynote window that you would like to share from the pre-populated options and click "Share"
  5. Then go on PowerPoint and present in "Slide Show" view (Not presenter view -- unless you have two monitors setup on your computer).

This is the age old question, which can be widely debated… should I invest in individual hardware components that I can beautifully rack mount OR should I use mostly software to accomplish my streaming setup?
